Jamie Roice and Robert Mills at the Reynolds School of Journalism

Nevada Trash Talk is a University of Nevada, Reno, graduate-student-run Web log dedicated to discussion around the proposed Humboldt County Landfill (a.k.a. Jungo Road Dump).

As part of the Reynolds School of Journalism Interactive Environmental Journalism Masters Program, UNR graduate students Robert Mills and Jamie Roice seek to produce new content and conversations among citizens of Winnemucca.

Roice—who graduated from UNR in 2007 with an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation—has worked for the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) and other agencies to carry out Rangeland Conservation Research under a Research Ecologist. With environmental interests in renewable energy, conservation and sustainability, Roice is an active member within a growing, environmentally-conscious community.

Mills—who graduated from UNR in 2009—works with University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) – the community outreach arm of UNR. With ties to programs addressing sustainability, agriculture, community development and horticulture, Mills works to help promote community involvement and education in Nevada.
