Here opponents can share arguments and information about the proposed Humboldt County Landfill.
Nevadan’s Against Garbage (NAG) – “a non-partisan, single-issue organization of concerned citizens” of Humboldt Country. Visit NAG’s Web log.
KWNA – 1400 AM Winnemucca, Nev. has strong opinions about importing trash.

To me this Blog is a tool of Recology not independent as advertised.
Both NAG and KWNA have very visual opposition mechanisms for getting out the word on this issue but, there are many other opponents of this project; Including over 3,696 of the 5774 registered voters (once a clear majority was reached the survey questionnaire effort was terminated).
A survey as a feasibility study was well designed to be simple, carefully carried out with all due diligence and the results of the poll of Humboldt County voters were: favor the landfill = 14%, oppose the landfill = 78%, undecided = 8%.
In addition to the expressed opposition of the residence of Humboldt County there are many organizations and public officials against the project.
Just to name a few: Lets start with Senator Harry Reid and then there is the Sierra Club, Nevada Highland Hunters, Friends of the Black Rock Desert, and more.
Fred,
We at Nevada Trash Talk created this blog to facilitate discussion about the Humboldt County Landfill.
We try our best to echo both sides of the issue in order to do so.
As independent researchers, we have no affiliation with either Nevadans Against Garbage or Recology.
We simply seek to promote discussion between supporters/opponents of either group.
That being said, we’d like to thank you for your thoughtful comment (complete with interesting figures) and encourage you to revisit our blog often in hopes that your participation will help create growth and discussion surrounding this issue.
Lastly:
In what ways do you think Nevada Trash Talk could act to maintain its role as an objective facilitator of discussion?
Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

And the NAG website saying they want people to post their views omits one very special point – They’ll allow ONLY posts that agree with their position!
I think your blog is very creative. Perhaps your next blog could be Making sense of gold mining in Nevada. To quote someone – It also is an “ethical environmental delema.” Perhaps, more than a landfill.
